Supreme Court Ruling Legalizing Gay Marriage Nationwide

We here at Officiant NYC are so happy and proud of our country’s decision today on marriage equality! All of our families, friends, and children deserve to grow up and live in country that accepts us for who we are and whomever we choose to love.

People all over the world have been hashtagging #lovewins – and today it sure feels like it did.

Since same sex marriage was legalized in New York State since 2011, Officiant NYC has married hundreds of glowing gay and lesbian couples and can’t wait to see the country allow this pure affection of the heart to flourish even further. The Supreme Court has made a wonderful, just, and emotionally intelligent decision and the entirety of country should be celebrating pride this weekend.

We’re rejoicing in this news and are so thrilled to do our part in spreading the love.

Central Park Location - Cop Cot

Cop Cot is Scottish for "little house on the crest of a hill" and is a reproduction of  one of the original wooden shelters that were common in central park in the 1860s. Built on a rock outcropping under a canopy of trees above the park's Center Drive, this location is peaceful and secluded and a perfect venue for a wedding rain or shine. Although it is easily accessible from the road, Cop Cot offers privacy and will accommodate up to 40 people.

Central Park Location - Bethesda Fountain

The  centerpiece of Bethesda Terrace, Bethesda Fountain is one of the most recognized fountains in the world. The neoclassical sculpture, also known as The Angel of the Waters, was designed by Emma Stebbins in 1868 and dedicated in 1873, at which point Stebbins became the first woman to receive commission for a major work of art in the city of New York. Whether you choose to wed by the fountain itself or in the shelter of the lower passage with it magnificent tiled ceiling, this is one of Central Parks most loved wedding sites.

Wedding Invite Business Cards

Making personalized wedding invitations is an exciting way to share news of your engagement with friends and family.  I recently worked with a couple who made their invites as little business cards.  They used a website called Vista Print to custom design and print their cards.  Here's a link to the site and a few pictures of cute cards for inspiration!
