Cop Cot is Scottish for "little house on the crest of a hill" and is a reproduction of one of the original wooden shelters that were common in central park in the 1860s. Built on a rock outcropping under a canopy of trees above the park's Center Drive, this location is peaceful and secluded and a perfect venue for a wedding rain or shine. Although it is easily accessible from the road, Cop Cot offers privacy and will accommodate up to 40 people.
In order to get married in Central Park you do not need a permit, unless you have over 20 people in your party. We do suggest getting a permit for Cop Cot even if you have less than 20 guests.
